Edmund Butler
Founder and Managing Director
My career has focused on the multidisciplinary intersection of policy, technical innovation, and getting things done in the Healthcare, Biotech, Government, and Energy sectors. I was successful in functional leadership roles in large corporations, government agencies, and in tech startups. I led commercialization for a successful multinational AI startup that has implemented some of the first FDA-cleared AI medical devices. I helped start a successful cancer genomics company at the University of Washington’s CoMotion labs and have participated in multiple M&A transactions. I’ve been in leadership roles in standards development organizations, where I gained insights into the needs of a variety of stakeholders. I am privileged to have worked with visionaries at the Mayo Clinic, UCSF, Intermountain Health, the UK NHS, and many other organizations.
In 2022, I took a sabbatical to explore how I could apply my experience leading innovation beyond healthcare to other industries. This led to the rebranding of Agate Point Consulting to NOV8 Energy. After dozens of climate tech and geothermal trade shows, conferences, lobby days, and symposia. I visited members of Congress and monitored policies related to energy-related permitting reform efforts. I organized the Pacific Northwest Regional Interest Group of Geothermal Rising, and am fortunate to work with many of the leading companies in the geothermal industry.
I am excited about the transformational potential of geothermal energy, grid modernization, advanced nuclear, and other energy innovations. I welcome the chance to work with and to invest with others interested in transforming energy and healthcare..
